The method
A language model doesn’t know today’s yen rate.
Most trip planners ask it to invent the itinerary and the budget in one breath. Verlanto separates what can be counted from what can be told.

The sources, before writing
Real airports and traffic, forecast or readings from the last five years, official public holidays, entry requirements, exchange rates, price level published by the World Bank.
2Calculate
The budget, by code
A reference spend per travel style, adjusted to the country’s real price level and converted at today’s rate. Every line shows its formula. No total comes from the model.
3Write
The itinerary, by the model
It receives everything above and writes the day-by-day plan. Its output format has no numeric fields, and it can only name places verified on Wikipedia.

Frequently asked questions
Are the prices shown real prices?
Not yet for flights and accommodation, and the report says so line by line. Exchange rates, weather, public holidays, entry requirements and the country’s price level are real and sourced. Accommodation, food and flight amounts are calculated estimates, with the formula shown alongside. The booking links, on the other hand, open real prices on comparison sites, with your dates already filled in.
Why do some dates have no weather forecast?
Beyond about fifteen days, no forecast is reliable. Verlanto then shows the average of readings from the last five years on the same calendar dates — measurements, not a prediction — and says so clearly.
Are the entry requirements shown reliable?
They are indicative. Verlanto reads them from a maintained public dataset, based on your passport, but they also depend on the purpose of your trip, its length and sometimes the transit country. The official advice from the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, linked in every report, is the only authoritative source.
Who writes the itinerary?
A language model, named at the bottom of every report. It receives the real data as input and its response format accepts no numbers: it describes places, neighbourhoods and routes, never amounts or times.
Where do the photos come from?
From Wikimedia Commons, under free licences. Each photo was chosen by hand and carries its author’s name and licence, read live from Commons rather than copied.
Are my trips private?
Yes. Every table is protected by an access policy at database level: a query for someone else’s trip returns nothing, whatever path is taken through the app.
What happens if a source doesn’t respond?
The data is missing, and the report says so. Verlanto never shows a substitute value in place of a number it couldn’t read.
